Ross Taylor and John Wright, New Zealand captain and coach, praised the deeds of their openers, Brendon McCullum andMartin Guptill, who earned a 2-0 victory in the Twenty20 series inZimbabwe in the opening century partnerships.

"The opening partnership was remarkable," says Taylor. "For more than two 100 games in a row is a reference. Brendon and"Guppy "[Guptill] arrived at a reasonable and complement each other very well."
Guptill and Taylor added 127 in 13.3 overs to secure a ten wicketvictory in T20 and then put at 120 in 11.1 overs in the second tohelp New Zealand after 187 in 18 overs.

"Both Brendon and Guppy played very, very well," said Wright."It's a great opportunity in this country, because the conditions are very good hitters. His stroke play was encouraging. We have nothad a lot of hitters in the first three, but it will be in the format of 50 years."

Guptill, who scored 40 and 67 in the two T20, had moved fromNew Zealand off-season with Derbyshire and he said no mold, as it had been in contact with the game. "I played great cricket when I was there [Derbyshire] so there was no stiff legs after the first game, so it was very convenient,''said the New Zealand HeraldGuptill." We started very well in the first Twenty20 and save abowling club and performance like that [in the second T20] is very nice.''

New Zealand will begin a one-day leg of his visit to Zimbabwe in Harare on October 20.
